FAQ Rates Mixing
All rates include staffing and engineering fees
Corporate & Major Label Rates:
Half Day (up to 4 hours): $450.00
Full Day (up to 10 hours): $900.00
Independent Project Rates:
Mixing Rates at The Wave Lab, NYC are generally flexible for independent artists & producers and can be negotiated based upon individual needs, how many mixes your project requires and/or how complicated the mixes will be.
The rates posted below are based upon mixing a single, 4 minute, 24-track song and will give you a general idea of what baseline starting costs are like:
Non-Attended Mixing Sessions:
Analog Mixing:
Full Mix: $750 per song †
Client Prepared "Stem" Mixing/Summing: $600 per song ††
Digital "In-The-Box" Mixing:
Full Mix: $600 per song †
Client Prepared "Stem" Mixing/Summing: $550 per song ††
All Non-Attended mixes include ONE update if something needs to be adjusted or corrected*. Any additional updates will be charged $65/hr.
Attended Mixing Sessions:
Hourly Mixing Rate:
$75/hr with a 4 hour minimum
Single Day Mixing Rate (10 hour max):
$650.00 flat
2 Day Block Mixing Rate:
Two consecutive calendar days = 20 hour max
$1200 flat (what a deal!!!)
Attended sessions are rated differently because, funnily enough, things usually take a bit longer to complete when the client is present. This is because clients generally interrupt the flow of things by asking questions and/or having committee meetings ("too many chefs" syndrome) instead of progressing along. There is also potential for a lot of "up & down" or "in & out" behavior because they get bored, which can be very distracting.
However, we completely understand your desire to be present during your mix and that's totally cool! We'll just run the session(s) "by the hour" to keep it simple... and focused.
For All Mixing Sessions:
Alternate Version Mixes
(Vocal or Instrument Up/Down mix, TV/Karaoke mix, etc)
$25 for each alternate mix.
Prepared Instrument and/or Vocal Stems:
$150 flat per song ÷
